Airtel lays off workers for the second time in a year

Telecommunications firm, Airtel has sent home 60 employees.
This is the second retrenchment exercise to be conducted by the firm in a year.
Airtel, which has 6.9 million subscribers, said they have not made any profit since 2010.
The Telcos company has also retrenched staff in Nigeria, where it has over 25 million subscribers.   Malawi.
In Malawi, the company also retrenched 41 employees who say they were only given 24-hour notice.
In all cases, the company has said that the “strategic organisational restructuring” is aimed at improving efficiency.
