Court of Appeal on Friday declared the use of alcoblow illegal.
The court ruled that the laws authorising the use of alcoblow were inconsistent with the Traffic Act.
Alcoblow breathalysers were first introduced in Kenya in 2006 but were dropped following a court order.
They were re-introduced in 2013 when Michael Kamau was the Transport Cabinet Secretary in an effort to reduce road carnage.
