Bank of Africa (BOA) has announced that it will be closing 12 of its branches countrywide in order to ‘focus on enhancing its digital customer experience.’
The bank said that majority of its customers have turned to digital banking, rendering some branches redundant.
“This process will see twelve (12) out of our forty-two (42) existing retail branches closed, subject to Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) approval,” they said in a statement Friday, adding that job losses are likely to occur in the process.
This comes only a week after Airtel Kenya announced the retrenchment of 60 employees.
