2018/2019 Budget: Cost of basic commodities to go up

The price of basic commodities is expected to go up as the government seeks to fund its KES 3.07 trillion budget.
Consumers are likely to start paying VAT on basic products such as maize meal, milk, gas, and medicine.
The Treasury CS, Henry Rotich is expected to announce the new taxation measures today as he reads the 2018/19 budget.
