Dating in the city can be quite tricky. Most guys will only pick you for the party, night or weekend but never a lifetime.
In the short time I have been in the city, I believe up to 100 guys have laid me – all in the form of one night-stand. Blame it on the beer, but all this time I hoped the newest dude to take me to his house was looking for a long-term love. But how would I know they were only interested in a short-term flick?
The longest I have dated in the city is a week. And all the dating happened between the club and his house. We met online, had a few chats and when we met on Friday, it was all about club hopping till dawn. At six I found myself in his bed. He would then tell me to dress up quickly, his wife was returning from Germany!
Before that, I had met many other dudes like him in parties and clubs. Talk about the weekend getaways in the city – can you really ever get bored with all those outdoor activities, road trips, movies and barbecue nights? A guy comes smiling at you, tells you how gorgeous you look and how he’d wish to have a girl like you. He does not wear a ring, drives a Land Rover and is loaded with money. He rubs his shoulders with the mighty in the land, and for a living runs his own business from his home in the leafy suburb.
He wants to take care of you and in fact, as long as you’re together you don’t need your day job.
“Awww! This is so cute. Why didn’t I meet you earlier? You mean there are such nice guys out here?” you ask yourself.
He gives you a treat and fills you with romance. By the time the event is over, he’s had your cookie and forgotten to give you his number. And just like that, he’s gone.
Are you still wondering how I have had over 100 boyfriends in just a few months?
