Dollar billionaires: Kenya fails to make the cut

Kenya did not make the cut in the recent dollar billionaires report by Knight Frank.

In 2015, Bidco Founder Bhimji Depar Shah was ranked the richest person in Kenya with a net worth of $700 million.

His current net worth is estimated to be $290 million.

Kencell Founder Naushad Merali came second with a net worth of $570 million followed by

President Uhuru Kenyatta who was estimated to have wealth worth $500 million.

According to Forbes, Africa has only 21 billionaires with Nigeria leading the way in the top three ranks.

Aliko Dangote remains Africa’s richest for six years running, with an estimated net worth of $12.1 billion.
