Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States today at 5.30pm EAT.
Trump, 70, succeeds Barack Obama after winning the Presidential elections held on November 8, 2016.
His journey to White House started in June 2015, but soon became popular and defeated candidates who had big names within the political circles.

Despite having no political experience and facing a myriad of controversies during his campaigns, Trump emerged the Republican candidate of choice and later trounced Hillary Clinton to clinch the world’s most powerful seat.
This marks the end of Obama’s 8-year rule.
