Entry grade for trainee teachers to be raised


Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) wants the entry grades for trainee teachers reviewed.
Currently, people who score D are eligible to join the profession.
KICD says this grade should be raised to C+ in a bid to address the needs of the new curriculum, The Standard reports.
Under the new curriculum, all trainees for ECDE, Primary, Special needs education and Secodnary School teachers will spend two years of class-based training and another two years of teaching Practice.
