A Dutch entrepreneur, Marc Köhlbrugge has launched a paid public chatroom.
Expensive Chat will cost users KES 1 per letter, paid using credit card or Stripe.
While announcing the launch on Twitter, he said that Expensive Chat is “A social experiment to see what happens to a chatroom when it’s not a free-for-all, but every message cost you cold, hard cash.”
According to reports, the entrepreneur collected over KES 10,000 from the chatroom by the end of the day.
