Former Gor Mahia captain Jerim ‘Jagoal’ Onyango retires from football


Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia’s long serving captain and former first choice goalkeeper Jerim ‘Jagoal’ Onyango has hanged his gloves.
A statement from the club on Monday confirmed Onyango’s retirement from football, with reports indicating that he has landed a new role at the club as the under 18 team head coach.
“Today, we celebrate our longest serving player Jerim Onyango who will not be part of the playing unit as from this season. We truly appreciate his work and efforts which helped the club achieved the best in many seasons.
“As you hang your gloves, we wish you all best in life Jerry,” the club’s statement read in part.
Onyango who is also referred to as King Jerry is also eyeing the Member of County Assembly seat in Ugenya in the forthcoming General polls.
