Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has been accused of using his powers as the Wiper party Secretary General to victimise party members.
Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib, who announced a week ago that he was no longer a Wiper party member, said that Omar has been leading the party as his own private entity.
Badi said that he did not like the manner in which Omar has been playing poor politics within the party and that why he left.
However, though he did not reveal which party he was headed to, he seems to have found a home in ODM party as he is becoming a strong supporter of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Multiple sources have revealed that since Badi was a strong follower of Governor Joho and not Omar, Joho convinced him to join ODM to defend his Jomvu seat.
Other close allies of Badi said that Mathias Hezron Shipeta, who is Omar’s official Communications manager will vie for Jomvu parliamentary seat on a Wiper ticket.
Badi is rumoured to have been warned to support Omar instead of Joho in the forthcoming general election, but he did not heed to the calls.
Shipeta while responding to Badi said that Wiper party will conduct open primaries and Badi should not fear nominations.
On Tuesday evening, Nyali MP Hezron Awiti also ditched Wiper party saying that things were not working out well for him.
Awiti gave the same reasons as Badi.
“I will vie for Mombasa governorship on my own party which I will reveal to you but am no longer with Senator Omar or the party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
Awiti has been the party treasurer for the last three years.
Omar has maintained that Wiper is a free democratic party and appealed to those who were uncomfortable in the party to leave as others were already joining.
