IEBC set to conduct by-elections in four wards Wednesday


Nairobi, Kenya – Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to conduct by-elections in four wards on Wednesday.
The by-elections will held in Mosiro (Kajiado County), Sala (Tana River County), Kalokol Ward (Turkana County)and Nyacheki (Kisii County) wards following the death of the former office holders between April and August.
IEBC has cleared two candidates to vie for the Mosiro that was previously held by Peter Kurrinyo. Kurrinyo, who was elected on CORD ticket died from cirrhosis of the liver.
In Sala, four candidates have been cleared to contest for the seat that fell vacant following the death of Sadick Karani.
Four candidates have been cleared to compete for Kalokol and fifteen for Nyacheki MCA posts that were previously held by John Lochakolong Lolimo  of FORD-Kenya and Peter Ongeri of ODM respectively.
