What if Uhuru Kenyatta loses the August election?

Is Uhuru Kenyatta ready to cede power?

President Uhuru Kenyatta has on several occasions said that he will win the August Presidential election and extend his 5-year rule by a term.
In order to win more support and the goodwill of Kenyans, the President has been crisscrossing the Counties defending his scorecard and commissioning new projects.

Opposition vows to trounce Jubilee

Uhuru hopes to clinch over 4 million votes in the upcoming Presidential election while the opposition is targeting 11 million votes.
The opposition is however in concerted efforts to oust the President in the upcoming general election, accusing his administration of rampant corruption and mismanagement of public funds.
Raila Odinga, who has accused Uhuru of rigging the 2013 Presidential election, has in the last one year been pushing for reforms at the IEBC to prevent a similar incident in August.
This has seen a new team installed at the IEBC, amid fresh claims that Jubilee is registering ghost voters and manipulating the voters roll in their favour.

Accept defeat and hand over peacefully

Uhuru Kenyatta has however come out clear and assured Kenyans that he will accept the results of the August election.
Speaking in Nyeri on Sunday, he promised to hand over power peacefully if he loses the election.
