Governor accuses government of blackmail

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has accused Jubilee of using KRA to blackmail him.
His comments came after KRA initiated a probe into his financial transactions.
In a letter dated March 14th, KRA asked Diamond Trust Bank to provide Joho’s financial statements since 2011.
“We wish to draw your attention to the provisions of Section 99 and Section 100 of the Tax Procedures Act, 2015. Kindly treat the matter as urgent…,” said the letter.
In response, the Governor told President Uhuru Kenyatta to raid his three accounts and take all the money he wants.
“I want to tell President  Uhuru Kenyatta that I have three accounts; DTB, Barclays and Stanbic. If they want all the money they can take it but I can never relent,” he was quoted as saying.
