Kenya Power monopoly ends as 10 new suppliers enter market

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has licensed 10 operators to generate and distribute power in the country, the Commission’s Director General Pavel Oimeke has said.
Oimeke said this will help improve power supply in the country as well as end Kenya Power company’s monopoly in the sector.
He also added that electricity tariffs will reduce starting this month.
