La Cascina Restaurant under fire for denying Dr Leakey drinking water
They told the KWS Chairman to fetch drinking water in the toilet
La Cascina Restaurant has come under strong criticism for mistreating Dr Richard Leakey on Tuesday.
The archaeologist who is also the KWS Chairman had gone to the Italian cafe in Karen for a pizza when the incident happened.
In a complaint letter addressed to the County Trade and Tourism Executive, Dr Leakey lamented that they were kicked out of the restaurant halfway through their meal after asking for tap water for drinking.
“In response to my request, he gave me two plastic cups and told me to go to the toilet to get my own water… To tell me I can get my water in the toilet is not only appalling behaviour, but direct violation of my constitutional rights as a Kenyan,” he explains in the letter.
Cofek, who were copied in the letter, condemned the act and promised to follow up on the matter.
Kenyans have taken to social media to demand the closure of the restaurant.
