Flying Squad officers in Kisumu have arrested a man who was forcing people to register as voters.
He was later released following the intervention of area OCS, John Thiringi amid protests by residents who claimed that the process was peaceful.
They said they had struck a deal to ensure that everybody in the area registers as a voter before the February 14th deadline.
