Nairobi – Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i has ruled out chances of recalling the 2016 exam results.
This is amid calls for an audit of the last year’s KCSE and KCPE results by the Knut Secretary General Wilson Sossion and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In his response, Matiang’i said the results were both credible and verifiable.
Out of the 952,021 pupils who sat KCPE exams last year, only 5,190 candidates scored 400 and above.
Only 88,929 (15.41 per cent) of the students who sat the 2016 KCSE examination scored a mean grade of C+ and above, compared to 169,492 (32.23 per cent) in 2015.
Over 500,000 students sat their final secondary school exams last year.
