NASA Meru rally attracts huge crowds

NASA Meru vote-hunting mission begins

National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have taken their campaign trail to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard ahead of the August Presidential election.
The leaders began their two-day tour of Mt Kenya in Meru on Monday, where they were welcomed by a huge crowd.
They are expected to proceed to Tharaka-Nithi on Tuesday.
NASA chiefs held a rally in Eldoret on Saturday where they promised to take care of the interests of farmers.
“We are seeking power in order to end poverty. We are seeking power in order to improve the living standards of Kenyans. We are seeking power in order to give our children equal access to education,” said Raila Odinga.

Kenyans have lauded NASA’s move to hold rallies in Jubilee strongholds, saying it was a show of democracy.
Political aspirants have been leaving Jubilee in droves for fear of being left out in the upcoming party primaries.
In Tharaka-Nithi, over 25 sitting and aspiring leaders including the deputy Governor have already left.
