Night of terror leaves 12 dead in a Mandera lodge

Mandera, Kenya – Twelve people have been confirmed dead in a night of terror in Mandera.
The 12 died after suspected Al Shabaab militants hurled grenades and IEDs at Bishaaro Hotel lodge in Mandera.
Ten of the victims were visiting to stage plays for KCSE exam candidates in schools within the County.
The County police boss Job Boronjo has confirmed the attack, saying rescue operations are currently underway.
A total of 33 non-locals were in the hotel when the assault was launched.
About 10 have been evacuated as rescue operations continue.
This comes barely three weeks after another similar attack at a residential plot where 6 people were killed in their sleep.
About 33 non-locals were staying at the plot when Al Shabaab struck.
