Second phase of voters registration kicks off

The second phase of voters registration kicked off this morning with the distribution of 7,793 BVR kits across the country.
Over 21,000 people have been deployed to conduct the recruitment.
According to the IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, about nine million Kenyans who possess ID cards are not registered as voters.
The electoral commission is targeting to enlist at least 6.7 million new voters in the next 30 days at a cost of KES 2.1 billion.
“The commission targets to register 22 million voters before the August polls,” Chiloba said.
