Sex: A familiar fruit on a strange tree

It is arguably a fundamental fact that after the drive for survival, the next most powerful drive on earth is the sex drive.

Men and women go wild in a bid to escape death; the same energy is released in a bid to derive sexual pleasure.

Sex is life, it is like a familiar fruit on a strange tree. It is different strokes for different folks. Different people engage in sexual activities for different reasons.

Rapists see sex as a weapon of oppression; sex is a trophy to perverts. To a prostitute, sex is a job. To a nun, it is a forbidden fruit. Sex is showbiz to a pornstar; it is a norm to a nymphomaniac. Sex is an expensive experiment to unmarried lovers but it is a seal of love to couples. Cheats and players see sex as a game; one person wins and the other loses.

Sex has never been and will never be a proof of love. In fact, sex has been used as a trap to blackmail and bring down the mighty. It has been used to put many young girls into the dungeon of depression and distraction.

Sex is sweet, no doubt but not all sweet experiences give birth to sweet memories. Sex is bitter. If you doubt me, ask a girl who was raped at ten or a woman gang raped by a group of bandits right in the presence of her helpless husband.

A lot of young folks think sex will make a relationship more romantic. That may be true but it will never make marriage realistic. You wonder why married folks divorce? It is not for lack of sex but lack of sense. A man who is good in the bedroom may be the worst in the boardroom.

The fact that someone plunges you into a pool of pleasure does not mean they can make you happy for the rest of your life.

Sex is like a fruit; it has its season, the unripe one may work for some people but it will lead to the fatal fall of others. Sex is simply an emission of emotions.

Love, on the other hand, is simply showing compassion with pure passion.

Let me end this piece on this note: Sex is life but it has made a lot of mighty men miserable and wonderful women worthless. However, it is arguably the only means through which all men will be born.

Suffice to say that: no sex no life and by implication, no sex no death. Sex brings life, it also breaks life. Ponder on that.
