Storm in Jubilee after Uhuru strikes KANU deal without Ruto
The pact will assign Moi’s KANU some Cabinet posts after August election
There is a storm brewing in Jubilee after President Uhuru Kenyatta signed a pact without his deputy’s knowledge.
The deal was struck when the President visited retired President Daniel Moi last week, which could see Jubilee drop the Baringo Senatorial bid for Moi.
They also agreed to give some cabinet slots to KANU, Daily Nation reports, but this has caused dissension in URP quarters.
KANU to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election
Gideon Moi, who also attended the meeting assured the President of KANU’s support in the upcoming general election.
Gideon and William Ruto have been at loggerheads over Rift Valley supremacy.
