Telcos on the spot over mobile money charges

The National Assembly Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation has launched investigations on mobile money charges by local telcos.
The Committee will look into the transaction fees, mobile money transfer fees, loans and interest rates charged by Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom and Equitel on their customers.
Marakwet West MP William Kisang who is chairing the Committee said the probe is aimed at establishing legislative and regulatory gaps affecting competition in the sector.
