President Farmajo, who has US-Somali dual citizenship won the election a fortnight ago after two rounds of voting.
The election was done by MPs and Farmajo successfully dethroned President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud amid reports of vote-buying.
Residents have expressed confidence that the new President will help tame the escalating insecurity and corruption that have plunged the country’s economy for decades.
