Why Wiper members want nominations done immediately

Mombasa Wiper party members want gubernatorial nominations in the County done immediately so they can know who to choose in the tight gubernatorial race.
The members who addressed the press in Mombasa Monday afternoon said that the fight between Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan Sarai and Nyali MP Hezron Awitti Bollo may disintegrate the party further and nominations should be done.
The members expressed fears that there has been a heated exchange between Sarai and Awitti followers, both of whom are vying for the Mombasa County Governorship.
“We want nominations done now so we can know who to follow in the coming August 8th general election. We cannot continue fighting within ourselves,” said Mjambere ward representative Khamis Mwabashir.
Mwabashir, who recently ditched ODM and joined Wiper said that the party may disintegrate following misunderstanding among its top leaders misunderstanding.
“We also want transparency in the nominations. We suspect that they might import voters,” he added.
On her part, Mombasa Women representative aspirant Zamzam Mohammed said there is need for a truce between the two Wiper leaders so that nominations can be transparent.
Zamzam said that Wiper leaders should solve the internal wrangles in Mombasa.
Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Sarai who is the party Secretary General has vowed to trounce Awitti in the nominations and floor incumbent Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho in the August polls.
